"Connect With The Experts" London Event

RIM put on a great BlackBerry "Connect With The Experts" event in London recently. For me it drove home how BlackBerrys and similar devices are changing expectations. Currently we are only making specific processes, applications or just email "mobile" but there is a growing expectation that everything should be mobile as a matter of course. As BlackBerry put it this is "holistic mobility" - everything available everywhere.
BlackBerry have now shipped 20 million devices but they see the future potential market as huge. So they are continuing to invest with the new BES 4.1.5 due out soon and the new BES release - code named ARGON - out next May.
ARGON will have some cool new stuff such as a new Admin UI, improved roles and groups, auto tasks, enhanced monitoring and high availability. Beyond ARGON RIM are also working up the next generation of BES code named NEON out sometime after 2008.
